Alexei Shirov was born in Riga, just like the chess magician and World Champion Mikhail Tal. Being one of the strongest and most dangerous attacking players of all times and belonging to the best players of the world for more than 20 years Shirov has won numerous international tournaments. In 2000 the Latvian became Vice World Champion. In January 2008 he reached place 4 in the world rankings with an Elo of 2755. Famous for his dynamic attacking play Alexei Shirov is beyond that capable of passing his passion for attractive chess to other chess enthusiasts.
On 17 + 18 November, 2012 he provided an insight to the art of attacking chess.

The seminar was open for players of all levels and took place in the Seminarcentre Buocher Höhe about 15 km from Stuttgart, Germany. The focus was on the most exciting and tactical games of the top grandmaster. The seminar was held in easy English.
